Volkswagen E-Golf 2015: A Different Electric Car Hits the Town

Well, Volkswagen has launched their new e-Golf. It is having EV in a small-car footprint, making customers have plenty to look forward. The 2015 version of this new brand four-door hatchback will share the same design as those of the regular Golf, but it has some variance. It is having a shuttered grille and some unique wheel, moreover a LED lighting treatments that will highlight it as an electric model.

The car is having lithium-ion battery pack placed under the front and rear seats. The new e-Golf will have approximately the same cargo power just like the standard model. The low-slung battery array makes the e-Golf stick to the road better than regular models.

However, the extra weight will likely negate any real handling gains. Not to mention, the e-Golf has tons of fun for their users. The buyers can expect for the stand-alone options of heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The car is having three driving modes -- Normal, Eco, and Eco+. Eco extends the standard range, while Eco+ conserves energy by limiting motor to 74 hp and retains the top speed of 56 mph. 2015 e-Golf will start somewhere at $35,000 to give a tough compete Ford Focus Electric, Honda Fit EV and Nissan Leaf.
